Bass Tab Music

How do you translate Bass tabs to notes, and then to Tuba music?

I figured Tuba notes would be the same NOTE as bass tabs, but I don't quite know how to convert them to Tuba. I've been trying to translate http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/d/decemberists/tain_btab.htm into Tuba notes, and if I knew how, it'd be easier to translate other contemporary songs to Tuba music, and I could show off my knowledge of pop songs on the Tuba. Or something.

  1. tablature is written to make it easy to play on a guitar. each fret moves up half a step. the number indicates the fret that has to be pressed down to play the note. For example, if you struck the G string while holding it at the first fret, it becomes a G#. If you struck the G string while holding it at the second fret, it becomes an A and it climbs chromatically up the scale. So here are the first few notes. 1. E (since it's the 2nd fret on the D string, it moves up 2 half steps) 2. G (no fret is held down, so it's a default G string) 3. B (four half steps up from a G) I'm sure you can figure the rest out from there.
