How to figure out guitar tabs?

There are so many nice songs I would like to play on my guitar but unfortunately they are in different languages so there are no tabs for these song, and if there are than they are very hard to find. How do I figure out the tab to my favorite songs? I can probably do it by ear but how would i know which notes to play?

2. There are literally hundreds of sites that have tab of many songs. Unfortunately, many of these sites have tabs that are incomplete or just flat out wrong. Ultimate guitar.com has a large library and there accuracy is ok (not great). There are software programs like guitar pro that have very large libraries of tab that are very accurate. These programs allow you to search for updates on the web and will allow you to write out tab from sheet music. These programs are not totally free so you may be able to download a very basic "trial" version, but to get the complete program you will have to pay a fee. Another way to go is to enlist the help of a good qualified local guitar teacher who can figure out the songs for you and teach them to you while providing you with a tab of the lesson. I offer this service to all of my students and encourage them to bring me in pieces that they want to learn.
