How to convert from sheet music to guitar tabs?

All I'm trying to do is take sheet music (single notes not chords) an convert it to guitar tabs. Where can I find how to do this? Example: a note is on the 4th line of sheet music (D) where is this on a guitar (like 3rd string, 3rd fret). Can't anyone answer this question?? So far I've received two inane answers.

1. guitar pro allows you to view the tab and sheet music at the same time, it allows u to download songs for free, and it allows you to in put sheet music and it shows u the tabs
2. D occurs many times on the fretboard. Choose one.
