What Do R Mean In Bass Guitar Tabs?

im 100% bass guitar player noob just start so yea, what do r mean next to a number on tabs for EXP: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/f/foo_fighters/wheels_ver2_btab.htm please dont say bass is noob yes i kno id rather play regular guitar but yea i got offered to play bass and also how do i do it?

  1. See, that's the number one problem with tabs. I've been playing guitar for 17 years, bass for 10, and it took me a long time to catch on to this. Any moron with a computer can type out tabs and upload them to a tab site. It doesn't matter if they're right, the fact that there are more songs than skilled musicians willing to tab them out means you end up with a lot of stuff like this. R doesn't mean anything. I think the guy who wrote that meant it to mean repeat. Actually, an R in tabs usually means release, as in "bend and release," which is when you bend a note up and then let it back down. You have found bad tabs and don't yet have the eye to recognize that. I'm sorry. Nothing more I can do to help you here.
