What is a good sound card to record music from a Guitar? My brother plays guitar and writes his own songs. For christmas, I would like to get him a sound card that he can plug his guitar into (the same cord he would plug into an amp, or something similar from the amp) and record his music. I know plenty about computer hardware, but don't know a thing about high-end sound cards. Where is a good place to start and what kind of things am I looking for / should I be aware of? Thanks!

Anybody know if guitar music-score-to-tablature translator software exists? I recently signed up for band at my college, and four years prior to it I've been reading nothing but tablature. Now, when the teacher gives me a score, it's like reading greek. So, is there a site out there that is easy in showing how to translate notes from a music score to something that I can understand or be able to tell me which particular fret of a particular string to play if I give it a note or series of notes in the form of a music score?
